I don't think I am right about the author of the poem you are after. Rossetti's poem begins: "Remember when I am gone away Gone far away into the silent land;

There is a poem by Rupert Brooke which begins: "If I should die, think only this of me; That there's some corner of a foreign field That is forever England........
