Response to Voluntary repossesion form sent back

from Lee (repossession@bigfoot.com)
Don't send it back to them yet (if at all).

I suggest you call these two people first. Both come highly recommended to me

Quoted form reader's email:

"1. Specialist Solicitor - Jon Roberts at Chafes, 32 London Road, Alderley Edge, Cheshire. - I got Jon's name through a convoluted source. He doesn't describe himself as an expert in the field, but is aspiring to become one, and therefore interested in any relevant cases. He has had some success in an interesting cul-de-sac of law, stopping mortgage companies claiming interest on possession fees, and other bits. He stops the interest by referring to the original contracts, which sometimes state such fees can be 'demanded' from the mortgagee. His point is that unless you get invoiced for them, you don't know the fees are there and that it is unfair to charge interest if no bill has been levied. All very reasonable stuff, and he has won a good case doing this. He's also looked at interest charging generally, again with some success. - He 'took an interest' in my case rather than took it over 2. National Association of Mortgage Victims (Carol Riley 01889 507394) - They gave me Jon's number. Members generally dealing with the dodgier end of the mortgage world."

If you let me know who the lender and lawyer is I'll let you know if I have anything specific that might help.

Try not to move too quickly. We're hoping to get more legal help up on the site in the next few weeks.

Good luck and keep in touch.
