Response to memories

from Heath (hmhallman@desupernet.net)
How about this?

Like Honey

Like honey - sliding, pulling off a spoon, The memries fall away - a golden stream. They cling and hold, but pour away too soon, Until, unsure, we think they were but dreams. The wish to dip into that jar of gold, And stir the viscous past thats thick and sweet- The nectar thick with family stories told To taste again the souls we wish to meet. The bread of life is dry and coarse with grain, Bereft of days with ones we loved so dear- The moistened, sweetened loaf - it is our gain, By spreading honeyed mem'ries still held dear.

Taste free the sweetness of the loving past- And use the memries freely while they last.
