Amex

A few years ago I had an Amex card and through job loss found myself unable to pay it off at the end of the month. After a few months of negotiating they agreed to settle for #30 / month on the #1600 that I owed. Recently they have taken me to the county court for payment of #5280 that I now owe (with interest and climbing every day). I have offered them a full and final of #1400 but in their words "as it has gone through the legal system we want the full amount outstanding" and turn the offer down. Suprising though that they have accepted a revised monthly repayment of #24 per month. I would like to get this paid off though, is there any advice to try and get them to accept a full and final around the figure that I can raise.
