Attachment of earnings orders can only be applied to people who are in employment.(posted 8597 days ago)With AOE orders, there is a protected amount that a person can earn (depends on circumstances) before the creditor can get any money - ie if the debtor earned #150 a week and the protected limit was #100, the court might award the creditor #20 of that remaining #50. If the debtor earned only #80 in a week, the creditor gets nothing.
