Coventry Building Society, Has anyone dealt with their debt collection dept?

I have recently been contacted by the coventry regarding a debt off nearly £22,000 from over 6 years ago, I wondered if anyone has had dealings with them and could offer me some advice on what offer to make (if any) etc. THanks
