I purchased a property 8 years ago with my then partner. Due to finances,(partner leaving), I was advised by a Bristol & West advisor to hand the keys back.Which I did. The mortgage was £52,000 and they sold it for £19,000 2 years after handing the keys back. They have been in contact with me for the past 2 years but due to finacial circumstances have never been in a situation to offer a full and final settlement. However I now am,(had to sell car), and they agreed that they would accept £2400 back in December. I have in the last two weeks received a Claim from the courts. I have not replied to the courts but replied to Osbourne Clarke with the offer of £2400 again but they say they will only accept £6000, as thay say that I have offered this figure in the past and I have not honoured it. Can they change their figures like this?? Advise would be much appreciated.(posted 7691 days ago)
