Could you please tell me how long a bank or building society can chase you for payments for a morgage debt/ccJ that occured for my friend in 1993 when his home was repossessed. I have been told it is a maximum of 12 years then the debt is written off. Also could you tell me how long you have to wait for your credit history to become clear after the debt has been paid or written off, is it 6 years?
