My partner is being chased by DLA on behalf of Abbey National for a mortgage shortfall after her house was reposessed 5 years ago. They have reduced the amount they say is outstanding by 50% (about £11.500 now). We have have been through the process of arguing with them and have used a solicitor (not much use). We are tired of it all now and want to offer a full & final settlement (they have indicated that they are prepared to consider a reduced lump sum). Problem is we haven't the money to do this at present. The question is, and it might be a stupid one, but are their any instances when a lender or those acting for them, have accepted a sum in instalments, i.e. £3,000 at £50 a month for 5 years?(posted 7218 days ago)
