Response to process of developing black and white photos

from David Hou (dna2367@hotmail.com)
Hi Katja,

There are several excellent books around on this particular topic. It really depends on how much detail you need. Firstly, I would recommend the Complete Kodak Book of Photography as a starting point. It is illustrative and thus easily comprehended. Then, You can also check the Kodak Black and White Darkroom Dataguide which goes into more detail. (Though, it is specifically about Kodak products.) The best books, as many would probably agree, are the books by Ansel Adams. Specifically, The Negative and The Print. These books covers in depth the art and science of fine printing, as devised by Ansel Adams. I hope these suggestions will in some way help you in completing your paper. Best wishes. --David
