TMY requires quite a bit more care in exposure and processing; however, there's no excuse for using such sloppy technique that there's any problem.
TMY is a little sharper and a little finer-grained.
Note that a couple of the best developers for these films are Xtol and D-76 1:1, _not_ T-Max developer.
