Sorry I didn't answer your e-mail, I've got a lot of people I have to return messages to.(posted 9176 days ago)Your questions/statements, in order:
With regards to multiple postings, 'sente' score, and 'deleted' score
--100 postings worth 1 point each is lame. I'm not arguing that point anymore, BeeJay and others hae quite convinced me. I'd much rather see a recording of a game not fully emulated, so I can pre-learn how to play it, than watch N.Kosaka miss pool balls 16 consecutive times (or whatever) No contest.
--My score on Sente Diagnostic was quite deliberate, and in response to your Super Champion 'deleted' score. It was a joke. Most people on #marp had a good laugh at it too.
--On my "massive" deleted score: For the record: This score was originally posted for RoadRunner, which I later figured out the collision detection was broken on. I therefore deleted my score, but since the 'deleted' function was broken, I could zero out my deleted score, and anytime I deleted another game, it would revert to 1.6 million points. In fact, if you read Zwaxy's 'to do' page, he reports that he is working (and HAS been working) on zeroing out points awarded for 'deleted'.
This obviously wasn't a problem for anyone but you.
On Invinco:
--I will wipe out my Invinco recordings. I wasn't aware of the problem. I thought mine played back, but I'm most likely wrong.
On MAME32 versions:
--Not much changes between betas with regards to recording (this is part of the current tournament problem) so downloading a final version shouldn't stop you from replaying my recordings. There *WAS* however a point in the last cycle where something changed on the NeoGeos if I remember, and I would therefore recommend you e-mail M. Soderstrom and request a specific beta copy, or try one of the other MAME players.
--I'll finish the rest of this post later...I have to go tutor a student right now.
Later, Q.T.Quazar
