Agfa 25 exposure/processing techniques

from Eamonn Aiken (aikene@bc.edu)
Hello~ I've just begun shooting with Agfa 25, at so convenient a time as to face it's discontinuation. As my supply of it is limited, I don't have the resources to experiment heavily with it as I have with my 100 and 400 speed films. I have a project in mind for this winter that I would like to use apx25 for (perhaps use my entire reserve and move on to PanF...) and am hoping for a few hints in accelerating my success with the film- my first attempt was 120 apx25 exposed at 25 in Rodinol 1:50/68* in a small Patterson tank with inversions every 30 seconds for ten minutes. My results looked a little "compressed" in an odd way, conrasty, but without the "snap" I've learned to coax from FP4+ and Tri-X. Any suggestions are much appreciated; for the record my fav film has been FP4+ @ 100 in Xtol 1:1 for 9:45 and my final output for the upcoming project is (tentatively) 16x20 prints from 645 negs. Thanks to all~
