Basics

I was hoping someone would take a few minutes to refresh my memory. I took a photography course way back in high school. I would like to start developing my own B&W film again but can't remember the sequencing. developer - stop bath - fixer?? Could someone please tell me the basics again? I would really appreciate it. Also, I am really interested in producing high contrast and very sharp pictures. Could someone recommend a film/chemicals/ and print paper to achieve this result. Thank you for your assistance.
