Response to Problems with ILFORD Delta 400

from Ed Hurst (BullMoo@hotmail.com)
Hi David,

Tried to send you this by email, but it keeps bouncing back!

Saw your posting at http://greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl? msg_id=005Cmd and thought I'd mention a different issue which I have only found on the new version of this film.

I only use 120, and a couple of batches have had the same problem - namely, when the roll is complete, and I open the back to remove and seal the film, the sealing band which needs to be licked has come away entirely, which obviously makes it hard to keep the exposed film tightly wound. The first couple of times I did this, I assumed it must have been due to clumsy winding or a freak error on my part, but it definitely is associated with certain packs. I use the 5-roll packs, and it either happens to nearly every roll in the pack, or not at all. This has not happened to me on any other film, including the previous version of the Delta 400.

Otherwise, I have found the film to be truly superb. By far the best in its class!

Hope this helps.
