Andrew,(posted 8450 days ago)I am not an expert in UK law, but if it is anything like US law, the warranty for fitness for a particular purpose does not apply to reliability, except in extreme cases. This law is designed to protect consumers against massively fraudulent products, not products that are somewhat unreliable. In the US, you would have to prove that almost all samples had a similar problem, and that the problem was caused by a massive design defect in the product for it to be covered by this implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.
