Response to Acros and Rodinal

from John Hicks (jbh@magicnet.net)
I have 8'15"/75F EI 64 Rodinal 1:100, contiuous rotary agitation (Jobo) for N; 7'30"/75F EI 64 would probably be about right for printing with a condenser enlarger.

These specs come from a quick speed and curve-plot test; a single "real" test photo looks ok but I only looked at the neg with a loupe and didn't print it.

Of particular interest is that above about 1.90DU, or Zone XI, the curve shape bends _upward_ a little out to 2.10DU, the highest density on that plot. This is of course quite a bit above the usual printable densities but it implies that very high densities could be burned in and still retain contrast.
