Response to pushing kodak or pushing illford hp5+ one stop...Which gives better results?

from Ted Kaufman (writercrmp@aol.com)
I've always heard Tri-X pushes better than HP5+, although I've also heard the gap has closed. I've also heard that either film pushes best in diluted D-76, 1:1 or even 1:3. Of course any of the phenidone based developers might also be a good choice: FG7, Ilfosol- S or Mytol.

I would suggest, however, you give the new Delta 400 a shot. I don't normally push film, but I've been dazzled by the latitude this film shows. I think it would be an excellent candidate for a one stop push.
