Residue left on HP5 negs

I processed several rolls of HP5 in HC110 this weekend in my Jobo. I used the "B" dilution, and did everything else by the (Jobo) book (prewet, etc...). The negatives look great, but there was a weird stringy black scum left on the outer edge of a couple rolls. It looked like very fine thread, and was not in the image area, only around the sprocket holes.

Did I not rinse well enough? What the heck is this stuff?
