Response to PMK & Film Development Times

from Michael D Fraser (mdfraser@earthlink.net)
I develop TMY in PMK for 15 1/2 min @ 68 degrees. Pyro will produce too much grain when 'pushed.' XTOL is the best developer I've used for pushing. TMY should be exposed at EI 320. As for adding Amidol, I don't recommend it. It increases the activity of the developer and adds contrast, not real 'speed.' In addition, it tints the greenish stain of the pyro negative a purple/black; kind of defeats the whole purpose.
