Response to Konica IR , no filter as a portrait film?

It has been my experience that when photographing people with IR film [filter or no filter] the results depend on so many variables that it is impossible to make a general statement about the use of the film. I am always surprised how different people's faces [skin, eyes, etc.] will react to IR. Sometimes it looks stunning, other times not....
