Response to Fine grain or maximum sharpness

Maximum Sharpness is the short answer. You can have a no grain image but if you can't get sharp detail than it is useless. A really sharp image can be enlarge to an extreme amount. That people forget about the grain because of the viewing distance. A fine grain image that isn't sharp just doesn't see to be able to be focused on the easel. However it depends on what you want to do. Do you want to be Photojournalist or a landscape tripod user? Regardless you HAVE to buy The Film Developing Cookbook.
