I just realized I'm looking for one thing, and all these posts are just different ways of trying both to ask and to ascertain just what it is in my head (other than cobwebs...). One thing which bothers me is the possibility of actually getting a scene to 4 stops top to bottom (w/ detail). I wonder if, under most conditions, I might have to underexpose the subject a little to avoid blownout highs (which I used to get all lthe time until I switch to major N- dev't)...
