You will get a black and white negative. Color film also uses silver, but the silver is used to create the dye clouds (with the right chemistry), so if you develop in B&W developer, you get the silver grains, but no dye clouds.(posted 8849 days ago)WIth slide film, the first developer IS B&W developer.
