oh duh :)(posted 8482 days ago)well this can be done, and there really isn't a guard against it, the only moral is that everyone enter their intials at the end of the game and if someone uploads a recording with two very different initials there might be some suspect about it. i don't think this has been a problem to as large an extent as other forms of inp falsifying.
In the new tournament version of mame (MAMETE), Ben Jos has been working on (or putting off) for a while, this issue might be solved because each inp will have an individual encrypted signature so time stamp (and perhaps machine name/user/ip the game was recorded on) falsifying may not be so easy as it is now.
Even if you could get to Hisa's site, he always signs with HIS, so if Jump uploaded a recording signed as HIS it would be disqualified. Of course if you find unInitialSigned recordings and marp and upload them as your own, they too could also be dqued because the inp file would be the same as someone else uploaded (this would require a large inp file comparison check at marp but it could be done)
