Response to pushing kodak or pushing illford hp5+ one stop...Which gives better results?

I have been pushing HP5+ up to EI:3200 using Ilfotec HC and Ilford*s recommendations for developing times and dilutions. results are very good. However I think Tri-x looks beautiful, especially the highlights, when pushed one stop and developed in D-76 1+1. I do most my work in natural light using Lastolite reflectors to open shadow areas.
