KoA3 Poll

from J.D. Lowe (jedidrunkenllama@hotmail.com)
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are indeed planning KoA3 (or Knockout 3, or MAME Championships 2; whatever you want to call it) for MARP. However, before we go into too much planning, we'd like to know your opinion on a matter.

What version of MAME would you like to use; TG MAME (which is .35tg3b, which is in the .35 cycle), .36 Final, or the latest version of MAME that is out during the competition?

Pros ----

TG MAME - .35 cycle, which runs faster than later versions on slow PCs; was officially developed by Twin Galaxies, so the inps are secure.

.36 Final - Since it was the last true final from MAME, it's the most stable; has wider selection of games than TG MAME; ports to OSes other than PC.

Latest version - Widest game selection of all.

Cons ----

TG MAME - Old version, so selection is smaller compared to other versions.

.36 Final - Slower than TG MAME; also has possible NVRAM issues (not a real con when it comes to the anti-NVRAM rules at MARP, but info never the less).

Latest version - Similar to .36 Final, but is slower than .36 Final.

Results will be used in KoA3. This poll will follow the rules of MARP voting, which means this will last for seven (7) days. The majority vote will be used. Please choose only one, for heaven's sake :)
