Response to How to set up a darkroom rental space?

from DK THompson (kthompson@moh.dcr.state.nc.us)
Kodak had an excellent publication at one time..."Photolab Design" pub K-13...it's probably out of print now, but had sample floorplans for several labs, ranging from schools to commercial studios & law enforcement etc. Some big companies, like Kreonite for one, and suppliers like Fuller D'Albert etc. will offer turnkey darkroom design & lab equipment as well.....we used some of this stuff in our newer lab, but designed it ourselves more or less...nd Kodak used to offer design consultation as well. They did an in-house lab within the system I work for and did a top-notch job...that was about 20 yrs. back I guess....it all depends on your budget I guess....but try calling around to the big vendors in your area...if you can afford the cabinets & lab gear some of those places offer--revolving doors etc., they can offer design solutions as well....good luck, as always:Opinions expressed in this message may not represent the policy of my agency
