Dry Photo Chemicals

Hi, over the last year I've purchased a number of photographic chemicals. I've been keeping the containers in medium sized cardboard boxes, but I'm thinking about moving them to a number of air tight 40mm ammunition cans and storing them in a corner of the garage on the floor. I don't have a lot of room in the garage refrigerator, so right now I only store my containers of Ascorbic Acid. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to store photographic chemicals? Thank You.
