Response to tungsten or flash

I'd use flash, setting the aperture to underexpose a third or a half stop and using a shutter speed that would allow the torch globes to be seen well. Then I'd try some other exposure combinations and pick the one I liked best. If you use studio strobes, shut off the modeling lights before you open the shutter.
