I've used Dixactol a bit but never really got what I wanted. It will compress a remarkable scene range into the negative, but getting it out can be a chore. I don't know if it makes a shoulder or just compresses the range but in any event it will capture sharp highlights.(posted 8170 days ago)I want(ed) a developer to make conventional 35mm films behave like XP2. I've tried various 2 bath methods, changes in agitation, dilution, etc. and I've never found the magic potion.
