If you met Floyd directly (e.g., swim team, classmate, work colleague, out of the blue at something like "Black Mountain") then
  1. locate and click on the appropriate category in the list above (note that categories are all 'first level' messages; name's are all 'second level' and lower)

  3. fill out the form exactly as indicated below

If you met Floyd indirectly through someone else then:
  1. locate and click on that person's entry in the list above
  2. click on Post Reply to this One at the top of the 'message window'
  3. fill out the form exactly as indicated below

If the person who connects you to Floyd is not yet in the list, send them an email and get them to insert themselves. If that person doesn't yet have email or web access, then find out how they are connected to Floyd and send email to Dale to get that person inserted correctly.

1983 or 1984

I met Floyd through swimming, and to this day can not have an extended conversations with him without his asking what my best time in 200 Fly was back in the day. As an additional reference, I'm also connected to the ancient Guilford Hills; Paul Hager, Todd Blackmon crowd. I appreciate Floyd's 'more the merrier' mentality and his introducing me to Black Mtn, Summer Soltesz, etc. No matter what random Greensboro person I bring with me to any of these events, they all have some knowledge of Floyd either directly or through a story they've heard of Richard's antics in Greensboro.

A Gathering of The Tribes

Pooterland were involved in helping to promote what was to be a legendary Psychedelic/Multi-media Experience in London.

At the time we were contracturally bound not to issue any details regarding the venue and names of the artists but events have taken a twist so here's the deal:

The event was planned to take place at the famous Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, London on Sunday 25th May 2003 and was billed as Implosion At The Roundhouse 2003 - A Gathering of The Tribes.

In light of the war in Iraq the original sponsors of a series of events (including this one) have cancelled leaving this wonderful project out on a limb.

The Implosion promoters want to do this now on their own but need to gauge popularity to see how viable this would be to do

and if it looks good the event COULD WELL TAKE PLACE!!

What you all need to so is send an email to the following address and show your support:

It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that the subject line of the email is ROUNDHOUSE

This will be a 8+ hour event and tickets are likely to be around £20- 25 each.

The following artists are booked to appear (this line up is AMAZING):

Blue Cheer, Crazy World of Arthur Brown, The Deviants, Dantalions Chariot, Kevin Ayers, Man, Michael Horowitz, The Purple Gang, Terry Reid, Linda Lewis and guests will all be appearing. There aren't many of us left but those that are, will be there en masse and hopefully younger people who "connect" will be there too.

On the decks for this monumentous occasion is the legendary Jeff Dexter (The Milky Bar Kid) of UFO, Middle Earth and the original Implosion at The Roundhouse fame.

It will be an excursion into the past but with todays technology at our disposal. (web cast and such).

The intention is to stand for the kind of ideals we had back in 60s/70s and maybe it will take on causes and pull in pro activists between now and the date.

So much more than a gig or concert as I say, a Gathering of Tribes. 8 hours+ of fun and entertainment.
