Abortion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Human rights (Amnesty International) : One Thread

In reading Amnesty Intl information on various web sites, the organization appears to be dedicated to the sanctity of all human life. Evidence in support of this view is the organization's opposition to the death penalty under any circumstances. What is Amnesty International's stance regarding abortion, either forced as in the People's Republic of China or elected by the mother as in the United States, Europe, and other nations?

I don't believe AI has a position on abortion.

The forced abortions in China are clearly a violation of the women's rights.

I'm sure it's a difficult issue for everyone, but there's no sense dividing the organization which does so much good over this point.
