Printed art and Poetry on Shopping Bags!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Public Art : One Thread

Does any one have any information about PRINTED ART AND POETRY ON SHOPPING BAGS? I know it had been done in San Francisco around 1994, but I am unable to find any hard facts about this project. The San Francisco project was a collaboration between the Bay Area art organizations and its Supermarkets. Please, if you or any of your friends have any information in this regards E-Mail me at: rumi@pixi.com

Thank you,

In England certain supermarkets are using art to sell higher quality plastic shopping bags at around 40p, (approx 60 cents) and designs include various Monet prints and such like. The bags are marketed as 'a bag for life' in that if it wares out you get another free. The Supermarket that does this is 'Tesco', www.tesco.net for more info. i hope this is useful, good luck and best wishes Katie
