Time Dilation in Embedded Systems -- Is this being looked for?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

Has anybody other than the several people I link to, looked into the time dilation effect with embedded systems' RTC (real time clocks)? I'm curious if engineers are testing for this in embedded systems and if they are aware of these individuals who have obviously spent a lot of time investigating this problem, writing and testing out diagnostic programs to validate this problem. This is a problem that can only be observed if devices are left in the post-2000 timezone long enough to observe the weirdness (unless they use the diagnostic programs to speed up the determination).
