Macro Lens for Nikongreenspun.com : LUSENET : Macro Photography : One Thread
I recently missed a chance to pick up a Nikkor Micro 2.8d for my N-90. So, if you have one for sale let me know.:-) In the mean time I am considering picking up a lens like the Tamron Macro 90mm 2.8 with D-functionality. Does anyone know of other macro lenses in the 90-105 range that support d-functonality for Nikon? Also any lenses in the 180 range that meet same requirements. Thanks in advance for any responses.

The new Tamron is supposed to be very good, but I just can't see buying it when a grey market 105/2.8D Nikkor from B&H is only about $100 more. Both Tokina and Sigma have also recently come out with lenses in this range that go to 1:1.
Also, don't get too hung up on getting a D lens. The D info is really only useful for flash. If you're going to be doing a lot of flash work, it's probably worth it(and then only if you're using fill flash as opposed to regular TTL).

I once had the lens you are talking about. It is very sharp edge to edge. Traded it off and have regretted it ever since. I am refering to the manual focus version. Get it if you can. Can't offer any advice on grey market though. I always buy warranties.
