Testing SCADA systems for Year 2000 compliance???greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread |
I would like to hear from anyone who is testing or has tested SCADA systems. In particular GE Harris/Wesdac Harris, but any SCADA will do.I'd like to know: - when did you start testing? did you find any problems? If so what? (can you give real examples) did you come across any peculiar circumstances that needed testing (strange dates, a specific sequence of steps to achieve a failure)? did you test communication links, routers, hubs, protocols? how long did it take to test the system? how many people were involved? were you successful in the end? and. . . do you have any hints derived from your testing?
I have kept my eye out for news of this type (SCADA, DCS etc.) but either nobody is testing (globally) or they are keeping *very* quiet?
We're starting our testing now any could do with as much helpful information as possible.

Our EMS/SCADA ia a GE-Harris M9000 system. We have carried out some tests. Is your system a M9000 series or an XA-21?

The SCADA is an M9000 series. (M9400) In your tests, did you come across any problems?I have developed a guideline document for testing embedded systems for our corporation to use. If I forward the document to you would you look at for me. Just to make sure that I have covered all the bases?
We are starting to test our systems now. I will not have any details on test results for a few weeks yet. I hope to post these when they are available?
