Soundtrack

Ok. Everyone has seen Titanic two or three or ten times, right? Now that you have been through the movie, what next? I paid a pretty price for the soundtrack to Titanic ($17.50), but it was worth every penny. Every song on the CD takes you back to a part of the movie and sends you on an emotinal roller coaster ride. You see the royal elegance of the Titanic from the docks. You sail out of the port not knowing your ill-fated destiny. You are there when Rose and Jack dance in third class, and you sit in your lifeboat watching the "unsinkable" ship slowly fall to eternity. And, it is ended with the most beautiful title song ever, "My Heart Will Go On." Buying the CD is like buying an unending supply of tickets for your very own suite on the Titanic.

You got the soundtrack for $17.50?!!! I got it for 10 bucks! But you were right Jason. It was beautiful.

Wow! I wish I could have gotten it for that cheap. I saw Titanic for the third time today. It's great knowing all the music in the movie. It really adds a lot to it.

I was hoping someone would be able to clear up a rumor I heard. Someone told me that there was going to be a second soundtrack to the movie Titanic. If there is, when is it coming out? Just wondering.

I've also heard that, because there is some music in the movie that is not on the CD. I believe the band that played in the Steerage Dance scene is not on the CD, nor is the music played my the musicians that were on deck while the ship sank.

I even heard that Sony (who released this soundtrack) had no idea that it would be so popular. Since it IS the most popular album on the Billboads Chart for the second week in a row, I don't think it would be a bad idea to release yet another Titanic soundtrack!! This would include the rest of the music that was played during movie.

A friend told me this weekend that she heard "My Hearth Will Go On" with a voice over by "old Rose" (Gloria Stuart) a la "Secret Garden" from Jerry McGuire. Has any one else heard this version?

I heard that there IS going to be a second soundtrack--but we're going to have to wait a while for it. If what I heard was true, it'll be released at the same time as the video!

There IS a version of "My Heart Will Go On" with bits of dialog from the film mixed in over the vocal and instrumental tracks. I've been reading about it on the Titanic Discussion list for the past few days, and heard it this afternoon for the first time on a pop station here in Oklahoma City (and if it's made it HERE, it's gotta be just about everywhere).

Cheers!

this morning in the local newspaper here in Seattle, a store ad said that you would get for FREE KENNY G's instrumental version of "My Heart will Go On" if you purchased his Greatest Hits album/CD. I went to the store and bought it but according to it's wrapper, it's the "first instrumental version available of this classic theme for all time" but the single itself is not for sale nor is it on his hits album. Let's hope SONY gave the okay for this!!
