Registration error

I attempted to register for Fiction 98...when I clicked the 'register' button, the browser (Netscape Comm) wanted to download a register.exe file. I was able to do everything else ok. How else can I make sure I'm registered?

Jim, I checked the registration files for the last couple days and didn't see your name. When you hit the register button, it should take you to a screen that asks you to fill in a password of your choice and fill out a small form. Then there is a "subscribe" button to submit the form. It sounds like a freak occurance. There is no file to download. You should always be careful of downloading .exe files anyway. The "register" button activates a cgi program that probably has an .exe file associated with it (I use the List Bot service, so it's not a program I have any access to other than the data filled in by students.) You might try it again and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then your browser may need adjustments... probably something to do with how it handles extensions in "Applications" (under Preferences/Navigator) that's as far as I can help you. I'll go ahead and add you to the registration list, so don't worry about it not going through.
