I don't know about straight CD's with samples but I recently picked up Sweetwater's Total Stereo Session drums for the Kurzweils and it blows away my rackmounts (DM5 and R-8M). I'ts so good I've ordered another 64Megs of ROM for my K2500X. It hasn't been reviewed yet but I suspect it will be regarded almost as highly as their Ultimate Guitars CD. Just my opinion. Kevin

When i have to use drum samples, i usually use Bob Clearmountain DRUMS II or Ross Garfield Drums 2, both of these c.d roms are good.

It was totally worth it to go into a good room where I had tracked before and bring in my own kits. I made a DAT of some stuff that had already been tracked, and some new stuff. After editing it down, I have 6 different setups of my own kit, all set up to go out their own individual outputs on the k2000. Whalla.

Only problem is that playing on a drumkat gives me tennis elbow. But it beats the hell out of a d4!

Anybody know where to get info on th Korg 01/W? Looking for an editor/librarian online that can handle patch transfers between banks. I also would love some sequences specifically for the 01/W, not gm.

Help Help! I have a problem. I have and ASR-X and love it. Or should I say loved it. It is so easy to use. Just hit start and it starts sampling, no menues or setup involved. Now the problem. I tried to edit some samples in Wavelab and Cool Edit but it seems the sample rate of my ASR-X is 44.824 instead of 44.1khz. Now sonically I haven't noticed any difference but my Gina audio card will only play 44.1khz. I really don't want to convert the sample rate as this would nullify my reason for buying a sampler thats easy to use. Should I have just stuck to burning out my eyes and creativity on my K2000. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a bunch of samples in Steinberg Avalon format on an Atari ST hard drive that I need to get somehow to my Mac drive in AIFF or SDII format. Does anybody have any ideas about this one?

WHHHHHAAAAAAAT?

Dude, the k2000 is *THE* machine! Burning out your creativity because you gotta hit three buttons to sample? Gimmee a break! If your eyes are all bummed, try putting in a k2500 screen. A friend of mine (who's a tech) successfully did it, despite all the people saying it can't be done.

Try using a Korg DSS-1 sampler, with its convoluted architecture, and then complain about your Kurzweil!

I planned on getting an Alesis QS8 until I played a Korg N1 - now I'm having trouble choosing. I like the keyboard feel of the QS8 better, and sample import feature, but the N1 seems to win out in the sound quality/quantity and front panel categories. Any advice?
