Response to Gloria Stuart Now!

Hi All:I just saw this and all I can say is: What a wonderful person this lady is! What a hot ticket! She reminds me so much of my own late mother. If she does not get recognized at the Oscars, it will be the last time I watch that presentation. I only hope I am that on the the ball when I am 87 (or that may be if I reach 87!). Definitely a classy lady.

Regards, Peter

What a disappointing interview! First of all, Jay had Kevin Bacon on for 15 minutes, going on and on about his films, past nude scenes, and then promoting his new film. Gloria was given a much shorter time. Twice when she was ready to say something, Jay interrupted her. While Jay greatly admired her (and repeatedly said so) he didn 't appear to really know what to ask Gloria. As usual, Gloria was pleasant and witty--but Leno really could have asked her some interesting questions. Is there anyone out there who agrees with me--or am I being too critical of Jay? Thanks, Walt

Gloria Stuart was a guest on The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder last night (Wednesday, March 11). And it was a 20-minute interview...very enlightening...very interesting!!! They talked about Gloria's early days in Hollywood, especially her involvement in the early days of the Screen Actors Guild. She talked about a couple of her movie roles and leading men. And of course, they talked about her "Titanic" experience and how her life has changed since the movie was released. One of the better Gloria Stuart interviews!!!

Regarding the Leno spot...I was sooooo embarrased that the actress in the clip they showed from the Shirley temple movie WASN'T EVEN MS. STUART (I believe she said it was Faye Ray...sp?)!!! She handled it with class, of course, but what dorks. All these years in the business and on the planet and they can't even get a film clip right for one of the last of a bygone era. Pooh.

Oh...but wasn't she LUMINOUS? I tell my friends that I don't want to live a day past my 70th birthday; but if I can be as sharp and as cute as Ms. Stuart, then I'll take it!:)
