Construction of Golden Gate Park

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

Not sure where to go on this one. My great-grandfather was a street contractor in the City from approx. 1886-1900 or so. Supposedly helped build the Park. In any event, does anyone know if the City maintained these types of construction or bid records for public works for that time period?? I suspect much, if not all, would have been lost during the 'Quake. But if anything survived, where would I find such items??

Many Thanks,

Cecile

Try the San Francisco History Room at the SF Main library. Also call Gladys Hansen, Curator, SF History Museum.
