XTol and TX?

Hi, I was wondering just how Xtol works with TX? Does it offer any advantages over HC-110 and TX? If so, what dilution seems to work best? Thanks! Howard

Re: Xtol and TX

I've used TX in Xtol a few times. Processing in 1+1 dilute Xtol at 70F in a small tank at the Kodak suggested times gave me easily printable negs that were a little on the contrasty side for a condenstor enlarger. Since I haven't used TX in HC-110 for a long time, it is hard to compare, but I suspect the film speed was slightly greater, and I know the perceived grain was finer with good sharpness.

TX pushed one stop in Xtol looked really nice, too.

Clearly, TX in Xtol doesn't suck, it is a combination worth trying out ;-)

I developed some 35mm TX that someone else shot in Xtol 1+2 and made some very good 11x14 prints. The grain was considerably finer than the TX I developed in D76 years ago. Xtol is a great all around developer.
