Why is fish the food of choice....

After a lunchroom debate we are still unlcear on the reasoning. Can anyone shed light on why we eat fish on fridays during lent? Thanks for your help in advance!

Well Paul thats a good question. Actually it does not have to be Fish it just can't be "Meat" Grains and Vegies and Fruit are ok. First we do this to remember the suffering and death of Jesus which occured on Good Friday. Some Stories go back to " We have no meat, just 7 loaves and 2 Fish" others to stories about helping the fisherman to the Apostles were fisherman, to Christ is the word "Fish" in Greek IXOYE. Anyway it is to remember Christ died for us.
