More local authorities these days are offering compost made from mulchted tree clippings and garden waste. I saw some at the local tip today that looked really good - and was free if you took it in bags < a trailer load is $5> My worry is what else in in it apart from vegetable matter. I would be reasonably happy to believe that weed seeds had been kiled but is there any way of knowing what, if any, chemical residues the compost might contain ?
