Missing the old SSS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : 3D Audio's Music Business Forum (SSS Temp) : One Thread

Guys and Gals,

I've been re-reading some of the archived posts from the old SSS days, and there is some down-right delightful stuff in there. I've copied a few more onto my web site in case you are interested. The web address is http://www.3daudioinc.com/3daudio_comedy.html. Look for the Mac versus PC debate (again) and the Studio Q-tips thread about aural hygiene (the ear candle thread). I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I hope the new one flies and is as charming as the old one. It really depends on people's input.

Here's the latest from Craig:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! Infinite Music is now testing their music publishing kit software, which allows for individuals to master music for the internet. This is what will give y'all world-wide exposure on our site, but that's another story. Here are the requirements if you want to be a tester: * Windows 95 machine (sorry, no Macs for now) * Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0 * Stereo or mono WAV file to upload, 44.1 kHz, 16 bit * A JPG graphic (e.g., publicity shot, but it can be anything for test purposes) * Reasonable amount of computer savvy, and the follow-through to deliver bug reports if you discover any If you want to participate, send a note to Anderton@aol.com. In return for your efforts, you'll be given access to the "upload your music" portion of the site for some indeterminate time to be decided later (probably a year).

okay.... this is where i get a *little* pissed. the music and graphic communities are the only strongholds left in the mac community...

now were all going to work on this great new forum and SHI-BANG! windoze machines only. lynn, i'm sure it's not your fault, but gawdawn, look at the whole thing from ten yards away. it stinks like farts in cars.

raised on mac, work on mac, die on mac. looks like a stupid attitude, but i'm not letting 1984 into 1998. mac auschwitz=sad. yeah, a 53490853mhz pentium and a sonic foundry set up costs about $399 at sears.... but we all know the perfume and pigs analogy....

out like bellbottoms-
