Water Makers

We are building a new, unique reverse osmosis watermaker that runs on DC power. It produces 9 gallons per hour of drinking water from sea water using only 8.5 amps 12VDC, thats 12 watts per gallon or over 200 gallons per day on the same power to run a 100 watt light bulb!. We are now selling them to yacht owners who love being able to make more water than they need on very little power. Most boats have wind and solar power that is used to run the watermaker. I, David Smith, a partner in Spectra Watermakers, have just found out about the seriousness of the Y2K problem. Our watermaker could be used in shore side land base applications or in factory boats that that could supply water to coatal areas.

Reverse osmosis can filter fresh to fresh very well, thats what the water machines at the markets do. Our machine can go from fresh to fresh all the way to sea water to fresh. The problem with R.O. is that if the wrong minerals are disolved in the feed water the membrane could be clogged permanently. A water analisis for any water other than ocean water is a must. For those of you that are familiar with the High Lifter water pumps, our high pressure pump system was designed by the same inventor.
