Initial values and ID fields in Oracle

When you are about to create a new instance of an object (company, legal file, complaint ...) it is up to you as the developer of the system to set up the initial values for that object.

No ID in Oracle can have the value zero. That is a definition by our DBA, Jim E. For example ID_LGL, ID_CMP ... etc can not be zero. All ID's will start with 1 and will be increased by 1, i.e 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,....
