UP passenger car(s) bought by SCL/Hamburg Ind.

A book I have about C&0 trains has a color photo of the blind end of a passenger car in Union Pacific yellow/red/grey, but is lettered "Seaboard Coast Line". This lettering is sized and located at the end of the name band where one would normally find "Pullman", "Hamburg", etc. Heavy roof riveting and raised bands above and below the window line suggest pre-war construction, but that portion of the car shown is too small to show any windows. Might be a baggage car(?) The photo is dated April 1970. Any clues? Thanks.

Several 11 db UP sleepers in the "Sun" and "Star" series were leased by SCL in the late sixties from UP,probably since Pullman no longer operated the pool of sleepers which passenger roads depended on for seasonal travel, after Jan. 1, 1969.

SCL used several of these cars during the 70's.I think they were 11DBR cars. The large UP was painted out and Seaboard Coast Line applied in small lettering near the ends on all four corners. If anyone has information on these or cars that were done by Hamburg Industries please let me know.I want to do any aritcle for LS. J.Oates
