Monica Lewinsky & Y2K

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Can anybody get a hold of her? And ask her to start talking about the Year 2000 being the reason she and Clinton became friends? I'm expecting the Weather Channel to start talking about her anyday.

They've been friends for a very long time, I don't think this is a conspiracy....but does anyone want to speculate the outcome of this matter, and how will it relate to Y2K?

I would think this whole affair is obvious. They wanted to draw attention from Y2K. Hillary planned the whole thing and the press is going along with it!

I've had a long-time fascination with the artistry of magicians...slight-of-hand....

Monica Lewinsky is power-elite misdirection at its finest....no..don't look at all the real problems...Look at Bill and Monica

Somebody has put the phrase "bread and circuses" into the common vernacular lately. I JUST found out who originally said it. It was a rhetoritician and satirical poet named Juvenal (c. 60-140 A.D.),...although he has more words to his name....the quote is:

"Duas tantum res anxius optat, Panem et circenses" Translation...."The people long eagerly for two things-- Bread and circuses.

I also like something else Juvenal said: "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" "Who will watch the watcher?"

That's my two cents about the Monica circus.

One thing is certain, the administration is far more focused on Monica than Y2K. So is the press, so there goes another month of possible awareness raising.

Not that that matters to the remediation, it doesn't, but it could help a few more families prepare.

Bill's fly is the only bug the press is interested in now.

Just another sad example of how easliy the American puplic fixates on the "red herrings" along their path. If one listens on a quiet day the gentle mooing of the herd is nearly audible.
